The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Lesotho, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Lesotho, invites applications for an exclusive, high-level media training programme.

MISA Lesotho, in strategic partnership with UNDP Lesotho, is proud to announce an exclusive two-day intensive capacity-building programme designed specifically for the veterans of our industry.

As Lesotho navigates a complex digital and political landscape, the role of editorial leadership has never been more critical. This isn’t just a workshop; it’s a high-level dialogue on the future of ethical, investigative, and development-oriented journalism in our Kingdom.

Strengthening Editorial Leadership for Ethical and Development-Oriented Journalism in Lesotho

Media that Builds, Not Breaks

Dates: 25 – 26 March 2026
Venue: Outside Maseru (Residential – full participation required)
Participants: Only 12 journalists (highly competitive selection)


Who Should Apply?

This programme is designed for:

✔️ Senior journalists
✔️ Media professionals with 5+ years experience
✔️ Individuals currently leading or influencing newsroom decisions

If you are shaping editorial direction, managing journalists, or influencing public narratives – this is for you.


What to Expect

This is not a basic training. It is a leadership-focused, immersive programme that will strengthen your ability to:

  • Lead ethical and accountable newsrooms
  • Report with balance, fairness, and credibility
  • Cover elections responsibly, from both a journalist and voter perspective
  • Apply solutions journalism and investigative techniques
  • Navigate political reporting, crisis communication, and sensitive language
  • Strengthen your professional presence in the digital media landscape

The programme will also feature a dedicated session with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) Lesotho on Human-Centred Election Reporting.


Important Note

This is a two-day residential (sleepover) training, designed to allow for deep engagement, peer learning, and meaningful reflection among media leaders.
